CB2 Receptors

The CB2 receptor, also known as the peripheral cannabinoid receptor, is a member of the cannabinoid receptor group of G-protein-coupled receptors that also includes CB1 and GPR55. CB2 receptors are located primarily in immune cells both within and outside the CNS.

The CB2 receptor, also known as the peripheral cannabinoid receptor, is a member of the cannabinoid receptor group of G-protein-coupled receptors that also includes CB1 and GPR55. CB2 receptors are located primarily in immune cells both within and outside the central nervous system. The function of these receptors includes modulation of cytokine release and immune cell migration. In the brain CB2 receptors are expressed by microglia, blood vessels and some neurons.

Epilepsy Poster

Epilepsy Poster

Epilepsy is a brain disease that affects 60 million people globally. More than 20 anti-seizure drugs are currently available, but these do not address the underlying causes of the condition. This poster summarizes current knowledge about the development of the condition and highlights some approaches that have disease-modifying effects in proof-of-concept studies.
