Biological Activity

Cytoprotectant against chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Reduces mitochondrial pyruvate use in hepatocytes but not hepatoma cells in vitro. Also inhibits angiogenesis.

Active metabolite is also available, WR 1065 (Cat. No. 3356)
