Biological Activity for Amifostine

Amifostine is a cytoprotectant against chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Reduces mitochondrial pyruvate use in hepatocytes but not hepatoma cells in vitro. Also inhibits angiogenesis.

Active metabolite is also available, WR 1065 (Cat. No. 3356)
