Submit ReviewThioflavin T is a cell-permeable fluorescent amyloid stain. This cationic benzothiazole dye increases in fluorescence upon binding to the stacked β sheets of amyloid fibrils. Thioflavin T is used to confirm formation of β sheet structure from mutant huntingtin exon-1 aggregates (Ex1Q48) in vitro. Thioflavin T is also used to monitor the kinetics of in vitro polyglutamine amyloid formation of tNhtt-42Q aggregates in a Huntington's disease cell model. Insoluble senile plaques of Aβ in brain tissues are commonly stained with Thioflavin T. Excitation/emission maxima = 440/485 nm.
This product is supplied with a high degree of hydration and some residual inorganic salts, the amount of which are batch dependent. Please refer to the Certificate of Analysis to obtain the batch specific Net Product Content.
