Description: Photoreactive unnatural amino acid; photo-crosslinker
Chemical Name: 4-Benzoyl-L-phenylalanine
Purity: ≥98% (HPLC)

Biological Activity for BzF

BzF is a photoreactive unnatural amino acid. Acts as photo cross-linking probe when incorporated into proteins, including ion channels, transporters and GPCRs. When exposed to UV light it forms a covalent cross-link with a C-H bond-containing group, enabling selective and potent UV-driven photoinactivation of protein function. Has been used to study protein-protein and protein-ligand interactions.

Preparing Stock Solutions for BzF

The following data is based on the product molecular weight 269.3. Batch specific molecular weights may vary from batch to batch due to the degree of hydration, which will affect the solvent volumes required to prepare stock solutions.

Select a batch to recalculate based on the batch molecular weight:
Concentration / Solvent Volume / Mass 1 mg 5 mg 10 mg
0.5 mM 7.43 mL 37.13 mL 74.27 mL
2.5 mM 1.49 mL 7.43 mL 14.85 mL
5 mM 0.74 mL 3.71 mL 7.43 mL
25 mM 0.15 mL 0.74 mL 1.49 mL

Molarity Calculator
