Submit ReviewKey information: Janelia Fluor® 646 Tre is a red fluorescent probe for imaging Mycobacterium tuberculosis, after metabolic incorporation of the trehalose component in the lipid-rich cell envelope.
Used for: imaging Mycobacterium tuberculosis in TB drug susceptibility testing.
Application: fluorescent microscopy and flow cytometry.
Properties and Photophysical Data: Excitation and emission maxima (λ) are 646 nm and 664 nm, respectively; quantum yield = 0.54; extinction coefficient = 152,000 M-1cm-1 (measured in ethanol plus 0.1% TFA); A280 correction factor = 0.19; lactone-zwitterion equilibrium constant (KL-Z) = 0.0012.
