Biological Activity for Heparin sodium salt
Heparin sodium salt is a minimum activity: > 150 I.U./mg. Glycosaminoglycan that behaves as an anticoagulant. Binds with high affinity to antithrombin III (AT-III). Used in a protocol to generate kidney organoids from human pluripotent stem cells.
For more information about how Heparin sodium salt may be used, see our protocol: Generation of Kidney Organoids from hPSCs

Inhibiton of Heparin with Protamine
We used Heparin sodium salt to stimulate proliferation of primary epithelial cells.Heparin solutions were sterilized by filtering through a sterilemembrane filter with a porosity of 0.22micron or less.
Do not autoclave heparin solutions
