Biological Activity for Gliocidin

Gliocidin is an IMPDH2 (inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase 2) inhibitor. Gliocidin is a nicotinamide-mimetic prodrug that is anabolized into its tumoricidal metabolite, gliocidin-adenine dinucleotide (GAD). Gliocidin kills glioblastoma cells while sparing non-tumour replicative cells. In vivo, Gliocidin penetrates the blood-brain barrier and extends the survival of mice with orthotopic glioblastoma.

Preparing Stock Solutions for Gliocidin

The following data is based on the product molecular weight 204.25. Batch specific molecular weights may vary from batch to batch due to the degree of hydration, which will affect the solvent volumes required to prepare stock solutions.

Select a batch to recalculate based on the batch molecular weight:
Concentration / Solvent Volume / Mass 1 mg 5 mg 10 mg
1 mM 4.9 mL 24.48 mL 48.96 mL
5 mM 0.98 mL 4.9 mL 9.79 mL
10 mM 0.49 mL 2.45 mL 4.9 mL
50 mM 0.1 mL 0.49 mL 0.98 mL
