Biological Activity for CALP2

Cell-permeable calmodulin (CaM) and troponin C antagonist; binds to the EF-hand/Ca2+-binding site. Inhibits Ca2+/CaM-dependent activation of phosphodiesterase. Increases agonist-induced intracellular [Ca2+] increases and NO production in airway epithelial cells and activates alveolar macrophages. Also inhibits VLA-5-mediated adhesion of mast cells to fibronectin.
