Biological Activity for [Des-octanoyl]-Ghrelin (human)

[Des-octanoyl]-Ghrelin (human) is a non-acylated, major circulating isoform of ghrelin that does not bind to the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a), nor induce growth hormone release. However, exerts negative inotropic effects in papillary muscle and displays cardioprotective activity. Inhibits cell proliferation in breast and prostate cancer cell lines. Promotes adipogenesis in vivo.
