Histone Deacetylases

More Information »Histone deacetylases (HDACs) are a group of enzymes closely related to sirtuins. They catalyze acetyl group removal from lysine residues in histones and non-histone proteins, causing transcriptional repression. HDACs are usually components of multiprotein complexes.
