Biological Activity:
A pro-drug of the potent vasorelaxant nitroxyl, H-N=O, which it
slowly releases in neutral solution. HNO eventually dimerises and dehydrates to
N2O, without producing NO. Also a powerful inhibitor of aldehyde
dehydrogenase.
