Purchasing Officer

Tocris are looking to recruit a purchasing officer to join our supply chain team in Bristol, Southwest England.

With a fast expanding product range, Tocris is firmly established as a leading global supplier of life science research chemicals and custom chemistry services to university and pharmaceutical company customers worldwide.

You will be responsible for sourcing both production raw materials and stock items for the company catalogue. You will be required to monitor supplier performance and ensure prompt delivery of required products to the correct destinations, and also to produce costing and budget analysis reports. Also, you will be required to undertake some general business support duties.

You will have an excellent knowledge of email, internet and Microsoft Office products. You will have a minimum of two years experience in a purchasing role and be familiar with using a purchase order processing system. Although not essential, previous experience gained from working within a scientific environment would be an advantage.

A confident self starter, you will also need an excellent telephone manner and first class organizational and interpersonal skills as the role is varied and fits in a fast paced environment.
