Biological Activity

Reversible inhibitor of protein translocation from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to the Golgi apparatus. Blocks binding of ADP-ribosylation factor to the Golgi apparatus and inhibits GDP-GTP exchange. Can be used to induce autophagy in mammalian cells.
