Chemical Name: N-[2-(2-Iodo-5-methoxyindol-3-yl)ethyl]acetamide

Biological Activity

Potent melatonin agonist (pK_i values are 10.55 and 9.87 at human recombinant MT₁ and MT₂ receptors respectively). 2-[¹²⁵I]-iodomelatonin has been used to identify, characterize and localize melatonin binding sites in the brain and peripheral tissues.
