Janelia Fluor® Dyes

Janelia Fluor® Dyes are tetramethylrhodamine (TMR) based fluorescent dyes that are bright, photostable and cell-permeable. They are supplied as NHS esters for coupling to primary amine groups and are compatible with self-labeling tag systems. The dyes are suitable for confocal fluorescent imaging and super-resolution microscopy (SRM) techniques, such as dSTORM (live and fixed cells). Photoactivatable derivatives of some of the dyes are also available.

Photoactivatable Janelia Fluor® Dyes

Photoactivatable Janelia Fluor® dyes are tetramethylrhodamine (TMR) based fluorescent dyes that are bright, photostable and cell-permeable, and are non-fluorescent until activated by light of the appropriate wavelength. These dyes are suitable for super resolution microscopy techniques, including fixed-cell photoactivated localization microscopy (PALM), and single molecule tracking in live cells, specifically live-cell sptPALM (single particle tracking PALM). They are supplied as NHS esters for coupling to primary amine groups and can be converted to the relevant substrate for use with self-labeling tag systems.
