5-ht1E Receptors

Supporting information

Serotonin 5-ht1E receptors are primarily located in the frontal cortex, caudate putamen, claustrum, hippocampus, and amygdala. The function of this receptor has yet to be elucidated, although its presence in certain areas of the brain suggests a role in the regulation of memory. The human 5-ht1E receptor gene has been localized to chromosome 6 (6q14-q15); 5-ht1E is closely related to 5-HT1F though both are expressed differently in the brain.
