More Information »SREBPs (sterol regulatory element-binding proteins) are membrane bound transcription factors that are essential in the regulation of cholesterol, fatty acid and triglyceride biosynthesis. There are two SREBP genes in mammals, SREBP-1 and SREBP-2.
