More Information »Mammalian alcohol dehydrogenases are a family of enzymes which catalyze the oxidation of alcohols into aldehyde or ketones, with the aid of a co-enzyme, NAD+. In humans, there are five classes (I-V) of alcohol dehydrogenases, encoded by at least seven different genes.
