Oxyntomodulin
Biological Activity:
Endogenous glucagon-like peptide
that modulates feeding and metabolism; secreted by intestinal L-cells.
Increases cAMP production and inhibits gastric acid secretion in rat stomach.
Also inhibits intestinal glucose absorption. Reduces fasting ghrelin levels
following peripheral administration and reduces food intake and weight gain in
rats following central or peripheral administration in vivo.
