Biological Activity:
Novel non-peptide galanin GalR1 receptor agonist (Ki =
4.8 μM). Stimulates insulin
release in isolated pancreatic islets from normal and diabetic rats.
Systemically active in vivo; displays anticonvulsant activity following i.p.
administration in mice. Central and peripheral administration also transiently
inhibits food intake in rats and mice.
