Biological Activity:
Cytosine analogue that once incorporated into
DNA acts as a suicide substrate for DNA methyltransferase. Inhibits DNA
methyltransferase and results in DNA hypomethylation and activation of silent
genes. Chemotherapeutic agent; suppresses growth of human tumour cell lines.
