Biological Activity

Purine analog that inhibits DNA synthesis. Exhibits antiproliferative activity (IC50 = 1.54 μM in RPMI cells) and triggers apoptosis through increasing Bax and decreasing Bid, XIAP and survivin expression. Displays anticancer activity against hematological malignancies in vivo.
